Kristen Esson is a Nurse Recovery Coordinator at South Shore Medical Center. As a professional who is in long term recovery herself, she is passionate about destigmatizing Substance Use Disorders. Esson is a nationally certified peer recovery support specialist (NCPRSS) and is studying UMass Boston to be a licensed alcohol and drug counselor (LADC). Esson loves travel, surfing, rock climbing, yoga and meditation. She does a lot of volunteering, including leading a faith-based support group at South Shore Peer Recovery in Scituate.
