Mark J. Gorman, PhD

Director of Behavioral Health Services

South Shore Hospital Center for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery

Dr. Gorman’s research and clinical interests focus on helping individuals with obesity/eating disorders, bariatric/weight-loss surgery, body image disturbance, depression, insomnia, and anxiety disorders–with a special focus on lifestyle change/obesity medicine, stress management, and cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia. He considers it a privilege to be part of the multidisciplinary treatment team helping patients through the weight-loss surgery process. Outside of work he enjoys the local music scene, nature, and finding opportunities for relaxation/meditation.
