Urgent care centers offer patients quick access to expert care for illnesses and injuries that don’t warrant a trip to the emergency room. This affordable and efficient access to emergency care allows patients to avoid potentially lengthy waiting times in overwhelmed emergency clinics while also significantly reducing their out-of-pocket care costs.
Urgent care centers connect patients to faster and more cost-effective avenues for expert medical attention.
Established in 2013, Health Express merged with South Shore Health in 2018 and has supported patients
by helping them navigate their immediate and ongoing treatment options – ensuring they receive optimal care even after their visit has concluded.
On-Site Care Options
Excluding serious injuries or illnesses that are life-threatening, many of the conditions that people go to the emergency room for could actually be treated at an urgent care center. Our Health Express centers are equipped to respond to a comprehensive list of non-emergent injuries and illnesses. Our teams of board-certified urgent care physicians can treat everything from muscle sprains and broken bones to fevers, flus, and other viral infections. We can also address a wide variety of minor everyday aches, pains, or skin conditions like rashes, cuts, or abrasions.
Our modern facilities offer patients direct access to a number of diagnostic imaging, testing, and preventative care services as well. We have onsite X-ray and laboratory capabilities at all seven of our Heath Express locations. Should your injury or illness require additional attention, we can easily connect you to ongoing care within our extensive network of South Shore Health facilities.
Supporting the Continuum of Care
Effective emergent medicine prioritizes each patient’s continuum of care. Our Health Express urgent care centers serve as a bridge between our patients’ immediate and ongoing care needs. We help patients navigate their primary care options and offer additional assistance with coordinating their ongoing care via referrals to specialists, surgeons, or other healthcare professionals in our growing South Shore Health network.
The board-certified physicians at Health Express work closely with experts in primary care, pediatrics, orthopedics, and emergency medicine to ensure that patients receive the highest level of expert-informed care available while they’re at our centers – and no matter where they go next.
