As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, testing remains an invaluable tool for keeping our communities healthy and safe. South Shore Health is offering rapid testing at several of our Health Express urgent care centers in order to provide patients with convenient, safe, and reliable testing options for themselves and for their loved ones.

Where Can I Go For COVID-19 Testing?
Do I Need to Schedule My Test Ahead of Time?
In order to ensure that our testing capabilities are safe, efficient, and accessible for as many people as possible, our South Shore Health COVID-19 testing centers all require patients to schedule their appointments in advance. You can schedule your appointment online on the Health Express website. Once your appointment is scheduled, you will receive a Zoom link for a brief telehealth screening with a provider prior to your appointment.
What Will Happen During My COVID-19 Test?
Rapid testing is one of the safest and most efficient forms of COVID-19 testing available for patients and members of South Shore Health’s extended communities.
The rapid test involves a simple nasal swab, which is painless and takes no more than a few seconds to obtain. Your swab will then be enclosed in a secure and sanitary container for processing.
Typically, the entire rapid testing process takes just 30-40 minutes from patient arrival to departure.
How Will I Get My Test Results?
Results for rapid testing come back about 15-20 minutes after the test has been completed. Patients are typically given a copy of their test results on site.
A South Shore Health physician may also follow-up with you via phone with additional information on social distancing or any necessary COVID-19 treatment options.
